Call for Abstract

The Graduate Forum will be structured as a series of presentations by the students, followed by a conversation with specialists in the field to obtain individual feedback and advice. Interested participants are encouraged to submit a 1/2 pages abstract about their ongoing research at MIET.

Eligibility

Current Masters students of electrical, computer science, information systems, data science or related disciplines.

Submission Guidelines
  • All abstract must be original and not simultaneously copied from other thesis papers/journals/proceedings etc.
  • All submission should be in English.
  • The authors should provide full contact address with affiliation, and e-mail. Make sure that a name means just a name. DO NOT include Dr./Prof./Graduate Student/Mr./Ms. etc. in the names or affiliations. Affiliations mean the Dept./Address/Institutes.
  • The authors should take permission from their supervisor and/or co-supervisor to submit their proposal in Graduate Forum.
  • In a single 1/2-page abstract, author should include one-paragraph short biography, along with following things in each contribution.
    • Problem Statement
    • Background, and Significance
    • Novelty relative to the state of the art
    • Approach, data, methods
    • Results obtained/estimated
    • Summary of your research
    • References (If any)
  • To prepare your presentation, you can follow MIET Presentation Guidelines and other points which are given in previous section. You should also use the given slide in presentation section.
  • The word limit should be 500-1000 words.
  • Author should submit only MS word document. Before submitting your file, rename your file as MIET_last name_dept_institution.docx. Suppose your name is: Faruk Ahmed, department is MIS and University is NSTU. So your file name should be: MIET_Ahmed_MIS_NSTU.docx.
  • The overall similarity index should not be more than 20%.
  • Fully plagiarized and machine generated text will be highly prohibited.
  • Send your final abstract through miet@nstu.edu.bd


Evaluation

  • Proposals will be reviewed by the Graduate Forum committee to ensure quality, relevance, and potential benefit from attendance to the Forum.
  • All accepted and presented abstracts will be published at MIET Souvenir book.
